Lose up to 10% of your body weight a year

Saxenda, featuring liraglutide, has shown remarkable effectiveness in aiding weight loss, with clinical studies indicating its potential for individuals to achieve a substantial reduction of up to 10% of their body weight within a year. These trials underscore the impactful nature of Saxenda in supporting weight management, particularly when coupled with lifestyle modifications like dietary changes and increased physical activity.

How Saxenda works

Saxenda, containing liraglutide, functions as a GLP-1 receptor agonist, mirroring the actions of a hormone naturally produced in the body. Upon injection, it activates receptors in various organs, prompting increased insulin release from the pancreas to regulate blood sugar levels after meals.

Additionally, it influences hunger and satiety centers in the brain, reducing appetite and fostering a sense of fullness, potentially decreasing food intake and aiding weight loss. Moreover, Saxenda slows stomach emptying, contributing to better blood sugar regulation and appetite control for individuals dealing with obesity or seeking weight management.

Saxenda is a medication that contains liraglutide, which belongs to a class of drugs known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. It's mainly prescribed for weight management in adults with obesity, or people who are overweight and have weight-related health conditions. Liraglutide mimics a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which helps regulate the release of insulin when you eat. This helps to control your blood sugar levels. It's taken via injection and is shown to be effective at supporting weight loss alongside lifestyle changes.
